Let’s talk about the perfect two-ingredient summer treat. These blueberry lemonade popsicles are perfect for your next summer get together! They’re so cute and absolutely delicious. These are a wonderful treat for kids, teens and busy parents alike.

What we love about blueberry lemonade popsicles:

  • They’re gorgeous
  • They’re easy to make
  • They’re healthier than other options
  • They’re perfectly sweet and tangy

Who doesn’t love a sweet treat? It’s even better when it’s homemade and these blueberry lemonade popsicles are the perfect blend of sweet, tart and fruity. Let’s dive into this super easy summer treat.

How to make blueberry lemonade popsicles:

Get a popsicle mold ready, wash two handfuls of fresh blueberries and add them to the molds. Insert a popsicle stick in each cavity. You may have to squish through a couple of blueberries to get them centered depending on the mold you’re using.

Next, if you’re using pre-made lemonade, you can skip this part. If not, make the lemonade by combining fresh squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup. I like the ratio of six lemons, 1 cup of water to a 1/2 cup of sugar. Heat the water and sugar in a saucepan over medium-low heat stirring until dissolved. This process only takes a few minutes. Once the water is clear and you can no longer see the sugar granules, turn off the heat. You may allow the syrup to cool, or you can do what I like to do and add cold water directly into the saucepan.

Then, simply combine the cooled simple syrup with lemon juice in a pitcher and fill the pitcher to the top with cold water.

Once your lemonade is ready, add it to your popsicle molds. Remember to leave a little wiggle room for expansion. I find leaving about a quarter inch of space at the top is just right. Then, just freeze overnight for the best blueberry lemonade popsicles.

Can I use ready-made lemonade?

Of course! Your favorite lemonade will work just fine.

Can I use frozen blueberries?

This is tricky. I’ve never tried it, but in my experience, frozen blueberries tend to be a bit less soft right out of the freezer. When using fresh blueberries in these popsicles, the blueberries have a velvety texture. We encourage you to experiment and let us know how they turn out.

How long do they take to freeze?

This depends on your freezer. Our popsicles only take four hours to fully freeze, but they seem to melt a little quicker. Eight hours or more is ideal.

Can I share these with my dog?

No. Lemon is not recommended for dogs due to the citric acid and sugar content. Swap the lemonade for plain water for a safe and fun treat to share with your pup.
